The Majestic Live Oak Tree
Live oak trees lend a stately elegance to our neighborhoods and to the entire coastal region. The strong, thick branches dripping with spanish moss have become iconic images of Savannah. You'll find many of these majestic beauties throughout The Village at Autumn Lake.
At a time of year when many trees are bare, our live oaks are still leafy green. In fact, the name "live oak" was given because the tree remains green throughout the winter, rather than presenting a dormant facade.
The southern live oak is the official state tree of Georgia, and it's not difficult to see why. They provide expansive shade in the summertime, greenery in winter, and beauty all year long.
